Daniel Sowelu looks at the stars for november 2007

ASTROLOGY by Daniel Solewu I AM pleased to announce that this month’s chart is the best I’ve seen in many months: lots of trines and sextiles as part of a number of kites and relatively few squares and oppositions. But before we get too excited about the universe giving us a bit of a break, both the good and the difficult aspects are very intense, quite fitting Scorpio’s trademark quality. How well it will go then depends very much on how at home we are with some very deep parts of self, and how much we‘re able to tap into places of great mystery inside us.

To start with, the Sun in Scorpio is at the centre of a very crowded multiple conjunction of asteroids, including Persephone, Diana, Black Moon Lilith and Juno. (See what I mean!). The Sun reaches down deep, while the feminine arises to inform the Sun. This very potent gathering of goddesses of the underworld, the earth and the heavens has the potential to take us both down into the unconscious and up to the heights. Much like the awesome range of energies within Scorpio, this will obviously stretch us in ways that will be very demanding and yet very rewarding if we can go with it. There are many invitations here to feel more deeply, to link up different faces of the emerging feminine, to settle some old ghosts, and to own more of the beauty and power to love from even the darkest of places within. The Sun brings illumination and the desire to integrate the masculine with the feminine in all these forms that will highlight what needs attention and healing while offering support for the reconnection.

The toughest aspect of this chart are squares from all of the above from Chiron in Aquarius, as the latter, along with Neptune, is intent on opening old wounds as part of the healing process. Given the depth and range of the Scorpio collection, anything that gets activated here will be intense emotionally and psychically, and with the prospect of some very deep healing of ancient and contemporary wounds. This can range from past life traumas to early childhood pain, to masculine/feminine imbalances and relationship/sexuality wounding. So we can expect some significant movement and purification with this.

For those who prefer to skate over the top of things or hide out in the upper regions of their intellects or “spirituality”, forget it, as in the psychodrama of this thing called life, anything denied comes at you in more unpleasant forms, whether from within or from others. Nothing enrages the deep feminine as someone escaping in this way, the very worst expression of Chiron and/or Neptune in Aquarius, and the backlash can come in the form of depression or any other emotion that sucks you into the underworld, or through attracting others who challenge you for being too much in your head.

Nor can we wallow in our misery and rage as the challenge of Chiron is to face our wounding with conscious awareness and a deep commitment to heal, to get some clarity and healthy detachment around our patterns and our pain. Even though his presence in this equation will stir up old anger and bitterness in the feminine towards the masculine, he actually wants to support the gifts of the goddess by clearing the way for their reclamation.

And this is where it gets good this month. Alongside these challenges comes the multiple kites, grand trines supported by sextiles with the Nodes of the Moon forming the central axis. The Scorpio group trines Mars and Medusa in Cancer, Pallas, North Node and Uranus in Pisces, while sextiling Saturn, the South Node and Hekate in Virgo. This extraordinary arrangement draws the wisdom and psychospiritual potency of the ancient feminine out of the past and moves it like a slow, powerful river through Scorpio and Cancer towards that image of future potentials, the North Node.

From a karmic astrology perspective, Saturn on the South Node is an awesome event, resurrecting significant past life issues to do with the use and misuse of power and authority involving both masculine and feminine past life personas, so that we can cleanse and refine the ability to use these with greater responsibility and effectiveness in this life. In classical fashion, Saturn will provide some very “educational” experiences to show us the consequences of repeating the past, to balance out certain karmas and to prepare the ground to be able to move on with more inner stability in our soul’s journey. It’s also an exceptional time for regression work if you sense some big time issues around this territory.

The knowledge stores here for healing and transformation, particularly from the wise woman and the wise man within, are also closer to the surface at this time. This ancient inheritance is being invited and enabled by the kites to move forward towards the North Node as part of the foundation building for being more able to manifest in this life, with compassion and greater emotional fluidity, whatever our individual souls are asking of us.
